HANDLE WITH CARE (HWC)
HWC is a project that examines how technological developments reshape our perception of change. By drawing connections between the domestic, the military, and the digital, the work opens a dialogue between seemingly opposing forces: violence and intimacy, the everyday and the strategic.
The objects evoke instruments of power—deterrent, imposing—yet they appear here as fragile, eroded, almost vulnerable forms. This symbolic transformation invites us to reflect on the instability of political and economic systems, and how the imagery of force may ultimately reveal its own fragility.
Why blue?
The presence of blue in these pieces comes from cobalt oxide, a pigment traditionally used in ceramics by ancient civilizations such as the Egyptians and the Chinese. Today, that same mineral plays a crucial role in the production of advanced electronic devices, valued for its ability to withstand high temperatures and stabilize electrical charges. This shift—from artisanal pigment to strategic resource—highlights the tensions of our time: the weight of history, the extraction of materials, and the geopolitical struggles of a new multipolar order.
